We are repeatedly asked by martial artists and trainers from clubs and dojos whether we can offer a jo staff as an entry-level model for their beginners or for guests in training. On the one hand, beginners often do not know whether they want to do the sport any longer, or they simply lack the money to buy a high quality jo staff straight away.
We offer you a good and cheap hardwood jo staff made of red oak. It is a Taiwanese hardwood. To protect the jo staff from drying out, it was thinly varnished. The jo staff is not suitable for extreme sparring. The strong vibration transmitted to the rod upon impact can damage it.
