Each of our individual pieces of Lignum Vitae was carefully handpicked and we only use the best quality for our hanbo made of Lignum Vitae. The hanbo is known in Japan as a Koryu weapon and is used there e.g. in the Hontai Yoshin-Ryu.
Lignum Vitae or pockwood is one of the hardest, heaviest and densest types of wood in the world and is often used in shipbuilding. Due to its hardness, the processing is time-consuming and laborious for my carpenters. They are wonderful unique pieces left in their natural state and with little resin.
