Each of our individual pieces of Lignum Vitae is handpicked and we only use the "best piece" for our Hanbo made from Lignum Vitae. The Hanbō is known in Japan as the Koryū weapon and is used there e.g. in the Hontai Yoshin-Ryuz.
Lignum Vitae or pockwood is one of the hardest, heaviest and densest types of wood in the world and is often used in shipbuilding. Due to its hardness, the processing is time-consuming and laborious for my carpenters. They are wonderful "unique pieces" left in their natural state and with little resin.
Please note: The picture is only for viewing and does not represent the Bokken that we are sending you.
