The simple
Daishō sword pair "Red Wood" by John Lee has a very filigree worked tsuba. The saya is in matte brown and forms a good contrast to the black handle winding (Tsuka Ito).
The Daisho set consists of the John Lee Red Wood (long version) Iaito Katana and the John Lee Red Wood Iaito Wakizashi.
Features:
- Shinogi-Zukuri style blade with hollow groove (Bo-Hi), hand forged, blunt, made of 420 stainless steel.
- Black cotton handle wrap in classic Hineri maki style.
- Red-brown, matt lacquered scabbard (Cha Ishimi style), the wood grain is still visible.
- With long tang, which is fixed with 2 bamboo pins (mekugi) in the handle. The sword is therefore fully dismountable.
- No plastic is used, only high quality authentic materials are used.
- Blade ferrule (habaki) and washers (seppa) are made of brass.
- The traditional handle winding is underlaid with genuine ray skin.
- All trim rates (Tsuba, Fuchi, Menuki, Kashira) are made of metal.
