The
Daishō sword pair "IMORI" touches by their simplicity. The figure of the mountain newt on the tsuba and the ornaments is striking.... Imori is the name for the Japanese (mountain) newt. Characteristic are the golden ornamental newts on the fittings, which give the otherwise rather plain sword its name.
The Daisho set consists of the John Lee Katana Imori and the John Lee Wakizashi Imori. The set has been extra blunt ground.
Features:
- Shinogi-Zukuri style blade with groove (Bo-Hi), hand forged from 1045 carbon steel.
- Blade is extra blunt ground with incorporated hamon line for an extra authentic look.
- Dark blue cotton handle wrap in Katate-Maki style (war wrap).
- Black, matt lacquered wooden scabbard with shiny black lacquer sprinkles (Kuroishime style).
- With long tang, which is fixed with 2 bamboo pins (mekugi) in the handle. The sword is therefore fully dismountable.
- No plastic is used, only high quality authentic materials are used.
- Blade ferrule (habaki) and washers (seppa) are made of brass.
- The traditional handle winding is underlaid with genuine ray skin.
- All trim rates (Tsuba, Fuchi, Menuki, Kashira) are made of metal.
