We manufacture our bo staffs only from Lignum Vitae from hand-picked, top-quality individual pieces. Lignum Vitae, also known as pockwood or wood of life, is the wood of the guaiac tree. This deciduous tree produces one of the hardest woods in the world. The Brinell hardness of pockwood is 155 N/mm² or 90 N/mm². Our hardest domestic oak wood has a Brinell hardness of only 66 N/mm² or 34 N/mm².
