Ki-Karate - karate with the use of Ki - is a training method with which karate techniques can be improved and increased in their effectiveness even at an advanced age and regardless of gender - regardless of how old or young, big or small a person is. This is a book that nonetheless shows diverse, interesting connections for far more people than just karateka and martial artists and explains them with clear examples. Anyone who strives for personal development or teaches, works with theories and practical exercises for body and mind or is simply curious and enjoys connections between concepts from the West and the East, will find a very special approach and many fruitful ideas here.
The basic principles that are taught in Ki-Karate go far beyond a style or a specific martial art. These are principles that come from the art of living of the old grandmasters from China and Japan. Even or especially today, these wisdoms and life practices benefit us. At the German Dan Academy, Ki-Karate has been an integral part of the training to become a karate teacher since the beginning of the seminar series.
Petra Schmidt is a PhD philosopher and mental coach for systemic short-term concepts. She currently carries the 4th Dan in Shōtōkan karate, works as a speaker for the German Karate Association and works as a business coach, trainer and lecturer.
