The expression "
Ten Kei" can be translated as "gift from heaven" and is a symbol for the beauty of nature. The
John Lee Ten Kei Wakizashi reflects this. Fine
floral motifs in
gold and
silver can be found in the hand-made cirates.
The blade is forged by hand in the elaborate
Kobuse style. Here, a hard jacket made of
1095 carbon steel surrounds a core made of softer, low-carbon steel. Like its historical predecessors, this wakizashi also combines grace and utility in a unique way. The hardening is differentiated to approx. 60 ° Rockwell on the cutting edge and approx. 40 ° Rockwell on the back of the blade. This difference in hardness is visible in a real, finely worked Hamon line.
