Shintai are used in Japanese Shinto shrines as dwelling places for gods, souls or spirits (kami). In addition to material objects, waterfalls or mountains such as Mount Fuji can also be shintai. The John Lee Shintai Katana is dedicated to these relics and their special cultural significance; in fact, swords themselves can also be Shintai.
