The John Lee Nishikigoi Katana was made with the symbols of the Nishikigoi, the Koi fish.
According to Japanese legend, a single koi swam against the current along the Yellow River, up waterfalls to the Dragon Gate. The dragon gods were impressed by such courage and endurance and transformed the koi fish into a dragon. Since then, the koi has stood for the qualities of: Luck, courage, endurance, freedom, determination, perseverance, wealth and success.
Blunt ground Damascus blade made from 12-fold folded 1045 carbon steel with over 8,000 layers
Shinogi-zukuri style blade with fuller (bo-hi) with integrated hamon line.
Handle wrapping made of blue cotton in the classic Hineri-Maki style.
Black, matt lacquered wooden scabbard (kuroro style).
With long tang, which is fixed in the handle with 2 bamboo pins (mekugi). The sword can therefore be fully dismantled.
No plastic is used, only high-quality, authentic materials are used.
The blade ferrule (habaki) and washers (seppa) are made of brass.
The traditional handle winding is lined with genuine ray skin.
All decorative rings (tsuba, fuchi, menuki, kashira) are made of metal.
Supplied with a protective cloth cover and in an attractive collector's box.
