For your martial arts, we had our master carpenter make this noble Bokken made of Balayong in the Itto-Ryu form. The bokken has a heel for a tsuba. The Bokken is good for practicing the forms and contact work. The center of gravity is about 15 cm from the end of the handle and is well balanced.
Balayong is a hardwood of incredible luminosity that is mainly used for valuable veneer work. In the Spanish colonial period, the balayong was very popular for making furniture. Balayoung is a hard wood with good breaking strength. A national festival is held in honor of this beautiful cherry blossom.
