For contact work and full contact we offer you a bokken in the Itto-Ryu form made of Dungon wood. The bokken has a notch for a Tsuba. The centre of gravity is 15 cm from the handle. The Bokken is balanced, full and warm in the hand.
The Ironwood Dungon is one of the 20 hardest woods in the world. It is used in shipbuilding as well as for heavy constructions such as foundation beams, piles or for bridge and quay construction. The wood is very hard, heavy, tough and flexible. Unlike some other Ironwoods, Dungon has the advantage of a long wood fibre, which makes it more vibrant and therefore absorbs shocks better.
This bokken has been extensively tested by Jürgen Bieber and his students in his dojo. We have received positive feedback from these tests. Thank you very much for your support.
