Tai Chi Chuan

Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese internal martial art that has its origins in the traditional Chinese martial arts (Kung Fu or Wushu). It combines elements and movements from self-defence with the connection to the inner life energy, Qi.

Tai Chi can be practised as a martial art, health-promoting movement training or moving meditation. The practitioner's path lies in becoming increasingly aware of the Qi, directing it and connecting to it in order to sustainably strengthen the body and health through a free and unhindered flow through the meridians.

There are various (family) styles, the best known of which are the Yang style, the Chen style and the Wu style. In addition to unarmed forms, all styles also include traditional forms and partner exercises with the sword (Jian) and the sabre (Dao). Regarded by some as an advanced practice, by others as a practice path in their own right, these weapons serve as valuable tools for practising and deepening the principles of Tai Chi Chuan.

In our fine Bokken-Shop we offer you special Tai Chi swords and Tai Chi sabres made of wood. We attach great importance to the careful selection of wood and high-quality workmanship: all our tai chi weapons are made by hand by experienced carpenters, there are no soulless mass products.
