In our Bokken-Shop we offer you a Nagamaki made of oak wood. The peculiarity of this long weapon is that the blade is roughly the same length as the handle. It therefore resembles a mixture of katana and naginata. Oak is a heartwood tree and is very resistant, hard and moisture-resistant.
The Nagamaki was particularly widespread from the 12th to the 14th century. The front ranks in a battle were armed with Nagamaki soldiers. Their job was to break through the ranks of the other side.
