"The fear in the room can be felt. No sound can be heard - only one's own breathing can be heard. It is too late to flee - there is no way out, no possibility of defense. The black-clad shadow warriors are there - death inevitable. They come silently and disappear silently."
In the 6th century (Endo period), the Tokugawa family ruled Endo period Japan. Historians associate the emergence of the
ninja with this period. The fighters trained in the martial art of Ninjutsu were credited with many supernatural qualities and powers. For example, they allegedly could reach through walls and move around invisibly in rooms.
The real strength of the
ninja lay in their good tactical training, in which they created confusion and used it well for themselves, in their speed and also in their very sophisticated and hidden weapons. The main weapon was the ninjato sword. It resembles a katana but was much shorter than a samurai sword and had a distinct advantage over the longsword in tight quarters.
