Description

We make our traditional cotton Hakama, in the fabric color black, from a stronger and heavier cotton fabric. A Hakama that will accompany you in your martial arts for a long time. Our Hakama are durable, resilient and perfect for daily training. Every single fold is individually stitched - which gives you an advantage when folding your Hakama and doing the laundry. The tedious ironing (our experience) is not necessary.

You can wash it at 30 degrees in the washing machine - please do not put it in the tumble dryer. We recommend hand washing. For simple instructions on how to wash your hakama, see Dressing, Folding & Washing.

Recommendation for women: As women usually tie the Hakama above the pelvis, they need 1 to 2 sizes larger.

Characteristics

Our cotton fabric consists of 100% cotton fibers. The vegetable rust is processed into yarn and then woven. All cotton fabrics basically have one thing in common: they are tightly woven fabrics that are quite resistant and stretchy.

Cotton fabric falls easily, but is less pliable than e.g. our budo clothing made of gabardine. Cotton fabrics are smooth and feel slightly cool - which is an advantage especially in summer.

Maintenance

To wash

Cotton fabrics can simply be put in the washing machine and cleaned at 30 degrees Celsius. We recommend that you wash your Hakama by hand - see our instructions.

Dry

Cotton fabrics can usually be dried in the machine. Pay attention to the care instructions for the respective product. Please do not dry your Budo clothing in the machine - it is essential to let it air dry!

Iron

Unfortunately, cotton creases easily, which is why there is often no way around the iron. It tolerates high temperatures well. See also our hanging instructions - this makes ironing easier.
