“It is my goal, through the publication of Sanmyaku Shinbun, that all friends of Budô will one day become as big as outstanding mountains. There are many magazines and books on martial arts - the Sanmyaku (mountain range) is supposed to convey the true spirit and essence of Budô and Ninpô ”... wrote in 1993 the Japanese publisher Dr. Hatsumi Masaaki in one of the first issues of his Bujinkan magazine.
Dr. Hatsumi Masaaki is a theater scholar, author, painter and actor. As a martial artist, however, in his capacity as Sôke of a total of nine different classical Japanese martial arts schools (Ryûha) and founder of Bujinkan Budô Taijutsu, he represents the spirit of traditional samurai and ninja arts.
Between 1993 and 1997 the magazine appeared in eleven editions and was published worldwide in twelve different national languages. This special edition revives the most interesting articles in a retrospective. Hatsumi's words were left as authentic as possible in order to give the reader the opportunity to make the invisible visible, in order to fathom the true essence of a word or a technique between the lines. Budô and Ninpô depend on the actual type of senses, which must be trained, understood and implemented, otherwise it is just a physical-mechanical training without content.
If you are looking for the essence of the true martial art openly and freely, you should read this book several times and not be astonished that each time you leaf through it, another insight opens up.
