The simple
Daisho sword pair Red Wood by John Lee has a very filigree worked tsuba. The saya is in matte brown and forms a good contrast to the black handle winding (Tsuka Ito).
The Daisho set consists of the John Lee Red Wood Iaito Katana (long version) and the John Lee Red Wood Iaito Wakizashi.
Features:
- Shinogi-Zukuri style blades with hollow grooves (Bo-Hi), hand forged, blunt, made of 420 stainless steel.
- Black cotton handle wraps in classic Hineri maki style.
- Red-brown, matt lacquered scabbards (Cha Ishimi style), the wood grain is still visible.
- With long tang, which is fixed with 2 bamboo pins (mekugi) in the handle. The swords are therefore fully dismountable.
- No plastic is used, only high quality authentic materials are used.
- Blade ferrules (habaki) and washers (seppa) are made of brass.
- The traditional handle windings are underlaid with genuine ray skin.
- All trim rates (Tsuba, Fuchi, Menuki, Kashira) are made of metal.
