For your martial arts we have developed our Bokken made of the European pear tree in the Itto-Ryu form. The Bokken has a heel for a tsuba. You can order the matching tsuba made of buffalo leather in the section: Bokken accessories. Pear wood is very smooth and has fine pores. The reddish wood is often used to make musical instruments such as recorders.
In mythology, the Teutons and Babylonians worshiped the pear as a sacred tree and seat of the gods. As a power tree, the pear can show you the way in difficult situations. It supports positive thinking, forgiveness, independence, well-being and the sunny side of life.
