The Bokken in the Itto-Ryu form made from Betis wood has a beautiful yellow-brown to reddish-brown grain and is a very hard and strong wood. Our bokken has a heel for attaching a tsuba. You can find the matching tsuba made of buffalo leather in the category: Bokken accessories. The Bokken is well suited for contact work. The center of gravity is about 15 cm from the end of the handle and is well balanced.
Here we have bokken with small knots, which we are happy to pass on at a particularly favorable price. It is suitable for practicing the forms and for a softer contact.
Betis wood is used for heavier construction work, e.g. in shipbuilding, for posts or foundation sleepers. Oil for lighting is pressed from the seeds. The bark and leaves are used medicinally.
