The martial art Tenshin-Shoden-Katori-Shinto-Ryu goes back to the Japanese samurai Iizasa Choisai Ienao (1387 - 1488) and is one of the oldest traditional schools of Japanese sword art. For this martial art we have developed our Bokken made of brown or olive ash wood in the Katori-Shinto-Ryu form. Ash is a very hard, elastic wood and is very often used in the construction of sports equipment.
In general, the ash is one of those trees that promise happiness and keep all kinds of mischief away.
