For your martial arts we have a very special Bo-Stick made from local brown or olive ash wood. The Bo-Longstick has a diameter of 40 mm and is 180 cm long. Our ash wood is a good alternative to Japanese white oak. The ash is very robust, wear-resistant, hard, break-proof and elastic. Bow and arrow or hammer and ax handles are made from it.
In mythology, the world tree Yggdrasil is also an ash. One of the strengths of the ash is its flexibility and endurance. As a building of the world, it connects heaven with earth and extends deep into the underworld. The ash is considered to be a promising and rich-energy-tree.
